Record and Share Your Teams Meeting: Microsoft Teams is a hub/platform for teamwork. All your team conversations, files, chats and meetings live together in a single shared workspace.
You can record your meetings in Microsoft Teams. You can record everything (Video and Audio) including share screen activities of your meetings. The recording file is saved to Microsoft Stream app that you can share, download or manage it with absentees.
So you have a record of what was discussed in the meeting to review or share with absentees or the recordings can later be used for training, demos, etc.
How to record meeting in Teams?
Either the meeting organizer or internal participants can start/stop the screen recording. External attendees (Guest Users, users joined over phone and users with non-Microsoft Account) cannot be able to do this.
Click on the three dots ‘…’, then select ‘Start Recording’ option as below:
If you are the organizer, then you will be notified that you’re being recorded as below.
The meeting participants will be notified as below:
To stop recording, again click on the three dots ‘…’, then select ‘Stop Recording’ option.
How to share your screen with other participants?
If you want to share something during the Teams meeting (E.g., Sharing desktop, to share a presentation or document, etc.), you can do the same by using start sharing icon as below:

Keyboard Shortcuts
The following are some keyboard shortcuts, which will help you meet and chat efficiently.
- Ctrl + Shift + MMute / unmute audio during in a meeting.
- Ctrl + Shift + OTurn on / off camera during in a call.
- Ctrl + NTo start a new chat immediately.
- Ctrl + OTo attach a file.
- Ctrl + ETo access and focus to the search bar at the top.
- To move between your activity, calls, chat, teams etc.use Ctrl + 1 for Activity, Ctrl + 2 for Chat, Ctrl + 3 for Teams and so on.
